Answer the person, not the system
Order tracking lets customers understand delivery progress without piecing it together through phone calls. Useful tracking answers three questions: what happened, what comes next and what to do if there is a problem. A map can support that explanation but cannot replace it. An internal status such as “event 204” is of little use to someone deciding whether they can leave home.
Design an understandable sequence
One possible sequence is order received, prepared, out for delivery, attempt awaiting resolution and delivered. Match it to real events: do not show “out for delivery” when a label is printed but the parcel remains in the warehouse. Include the time of the last update. Make supporting evidence available at closure where appropriate; FedEx, for example, offers proof of delivery through tracking.

Promise updates you can deliver
Present an estimated arrival time as an estimate. If the operation changes, update expectations with a brief explanation and a contact channel. Suggested message: “Your delivery needs access confirmation. Check the link or contact the team to agree on the next step.” Avoid multiple notifications for every technical event: group updates that do not change the customer’s decisions.
Share what is needed
A public tracking link does not need to expose the driver’s manifest, other customers’ orders or internal cash records. Decide what recipients may see and what requires team access. Avoid capturing unrelated people or documents in evidence photos. Check tracking from a phone with no account signed in: that is the experience many recipients will have.
Measure clarity, not just visits
Track location inquiries per 100 orders, resolved issues and time to the next action. Compare equivalent periods before and after changing messages. Fewer calls do not always mean better service: verify that customers are finding answers. LogiXY connects tracking and operations around one idea: your customer is our priority, including when they need an explanation.
